Amanda Todd was a young teen who committed suicide. She was born on November 27, 1996 and passed away on October 10, 2012. She was only 15 years when she took her own life. She was from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. She was a 10th grader student at Canadian high school, she went to a school that caters to students who have experienced social and behavior issues in previous educational settings. She was dealing with bullying, cyberbully, which led to her death. She still had a future ahead of her but, it was gone in a second.
Amanda posted a video on youtube with the use of flashcards, explaining her story, what had happened to her. It was like she was asking for help. She told the story of being abused and bullied. She had met a person on Facebook who she didn't know, never talked to, and never met. He then convinced her to flash him, which she did. A year later he contacted her again and he exposed her body via webcam, bullied, and physically assaulted. The video then became viral after her death. She had to even change schools may times because of the bullying. She had no friends because of the images that had been distributed. The kids at her school were bullying her, telling her to go kill herself and making fun of the images. There was a time when she got into drugs and drinking because of what she was going through. She couldn't take it no more so she decided to take her own life.
There are many others ways to solve the problems you are going through than suicide. Suicide isn't the answer to your problems. You should never even be thinking about taking your own life. Doing that is like your giving the bullies what they want. Whenever you are depressed, dealing with problems, or being bullied, you should talk to someone. Talking to someone will make you feel relief and much better because they will help you get through it.
Many teens in the world take their own life or are thinking of it, just because they don't want to be dealing with it anymore and think it's their only option for it to stop. This can't keep happening, we need to help them once they start acting differently because that's when you know there is something going on with them.
I've never been in a situation where one of my friends or someone I know are thinking of suicide or have taken their own life. I do know that i will try to help them in any way possible. I will talk to them and ask them what is going on and tell them to talk to me. Of course I will tell someone else like an adult, teacher, or their parents. Their parents need to know because they can be in danger of losing their child. When someone is acting differently like; giving the stuff they love the most away, being depressed lately or even crying is when you should know something is going on and you need to do something about it. I hope I never have to go through this but if I do I will help them as much as I can. You never know when they'll need your help so you gotta help them.
